Parish Hall Refurbishment
The Parish Hall has been highly commended and was the runner up for the Biffa Award of 2014 for a Community Building. This was a national award with over 260 eligible projects so we are very pleased to have been recognised for all the work and support the Parish Hall Committee, Development Committee, Parish Council and the community have undertaken to improve the hall. We intend to continue to improve the facilities and hope everyone will support us with our next projects for both the hall and the playing field.
The building works are almost complete for this phase of the development of the hall. The small hall is now extended and has a large storage area. New flooring has been laid and the hall will now comfortably accommodate 40-50 people. The new toilets, including children’s and disabled facilities, are much appreciated. The outside rendering will be completed as soon as the temperature does not drop below 5 degrees.
The project to improve and extend the Parish Hall commenced in 2008 from your response to the Parish Plan. To date we have renewed the kitchen and replaced the windows, flooring and lighting in the large hall. We have received funding from the following organisations;
Bernard Sunley Charitable Foundation
Constance Travis Charitable Trust
David Laing Foundation
Sir Derek Greenaway Foundation
Dorothy Johnson Charitable Trust
Douglas James Compton Charitable Trust
Edith Murphy Foundation
Garfield Weston Foundation
Maud Elkington Charitable Trust
Northamptonshire Community Foundation
N.C.C. Empowering Councillors Scheme
Northamptonshire Police Authority
Pattishall General Charities
Pattishall Parish Council
Pro Help Business in the Community
South Northamptonshire Council
South Northants Leisure Trust
West Northamptonshire Development Corporation
The next phase will include a new entrance hall, storage for the large hall and an extension to the kitchen. We have received grants from The London Marathon Trust and South Northamptonshire Council for this stage but as yet do not have a starting date.
