Pattishall Parochial Charities

The Charity benefits the elderly and needy of the parish.

Widows and Widowers monthly pension

The nineteen oldest applicants currently receive a monthly pension of £35. Others can apply separately to receive a Christmas Grant to help with their heating or fuel expenses - currently £70 per household. Closing date for December 2016 applications: 13 November 2016.

There are also funds available to support other specific, one-off requirements within the community. Although not age dependant, should there be a proven need for help at any other time, applications should be made to the clerk.

Each year the Charity Clerk will advertise in Around Pattishall and on the Web-site for new applicants. In an effort to help identify those who would benefit from a grant, members of the parish are requested to bring forward names to the attention of the Clerk.  Applicants are requested to write to the Clerk giving details of age, marital status and the length of time they have been resident in the Parish.

Letters should be addressed to:

Waites Educational Charity

The Waites Educational Charity was originally formed to provide tools and equipment for those taking on apprenticeships. However, the scope has been broadened to meet today's needs and include those going into further and higher education.

The Trustees will consider requests from students/apprentices who have been accepted for or are in courses of full or part-time Further or Higher education. These include those at Colleges of Further/Higher Education and Universities, Industrial and Commercial training schemes, placements, day release courses and post school apprenticeship schemes.

Grants will not be made to students in Sixth Form, Tertiary and Further Education Colleges taking A-Level courses or their equivalents.

Students receiving grants will be expected to provide evidence of course attendance, such as a student registration number and also receipts for any expenses claimed.

There were 6 successful applications in 2015/2016.

Each year the Charity Clerk will advertise in Around Pattishall and on the Web-site for Applicants.
